Ranked #2 in the nation (behind Stanford) in Best Graduate Education Schools for 2008, Peabody College has so much to offer!
I chose Peabody for 3 primary reasons: the availability of a part-time program, the curriculum in Organizational Leadership, and the outstanding culture.
If you are trying to determine if Peabody is right for you, here are a few helpful ideas that may help guide your research:
- Explore the website. Peabody.vanderbilt.edu is both intuitive and informative; a treasure of resources for prospective students. You can also request information on program of your choice be mailed to you.
- Reach out to the Peabody Graduate Admissions (peabody.admissions@vanderbilt.edu or 615-322-8410). There are routine on-campus informational sessions and informational online chat sessions designed to answer your questions.
- Request a campus visit/informational interview. I was able to attend one of the Masters’ level classes and observe the environment and culture first-hand. I was also able to connect with several faculty members and get a deeper sense of their professionalism and commitment to academic excellence and student success.
- Connect with current students! Contact the Peabody (Rosie Moody is awesome and would be a good place to start) and ask to visit with a current student who shares the same academic interests as you. Peabody also has a Facebook group page and this blog, Peabloggy, aimed at giving you a good picture of what it is like to be a graduate student here.
I wish you much success in your academic pursuits and endeavors and hope that, should you choose Peabody, you will find it an accessible, warm and engaging experience.
